Global fashion website Lookbook.nu is a fashion designer’s inspirational dream. Young fashionistas from all over the world upload their most stylish poses and tag the brands they are wearing along with their age and location. Other users vote on these, bumping up the “hype” of the stylistic inclined. Any fashion consulting firm, trend watcher, or novice designer can instantly see it’s benefits.
Enter China’s version: Voguemate.com. Voguemate is almost an identical version of lookbook.nu. (For more on this, read) However, it generally features Chinese fashion forward users with some other Pan-Asian members sprinkled in. enoVate team member Sunnie mentions that the website targets fashion icons and young guys who like fashion. She enjoys features indicating what members are wearing and the “buy on Taobao” function. However, Sunnie feels the site is not as mature as P1.cn, a leading nightlife, street style, and street snap social network site.
